When their car breaks down, a couple on the run headed southbound for a fresh start in the Sunshine State break into a nearby house looking for a new set of wheels. What they find instead is a dark secret, and a sweet-as-pie pair of homeowners who will do anything to keep it from getting out.

"The movie has a few exaggerations, some nonsensical and even predictable solutions, but it also has moments that amuse, some bizarre scenes and in general it holds your attention from start to finish. The performances and the character dynamics are good, the ambience and the colors give the film a certain charm, the story is simple and doesn't bring anything new, but it does its job of entertaining."
"Underlying theme? Healthy vs Unhealthy relationship dynamics and treatment. I LOVE seeing Mickey and Jules interact because it's VERY clear how much they genuinely love, care for, and respect one another. The writers and actors did a good job at showing the contrast between Mickey/Jules' relationship and George/Gloria's relationship, besides the bat **** craziness.
All the actors/actresses did a great job in this one, but it's for sure another W performance from Kyra Sedgwick and Bill Skarsgård. The range these two have displayed throughout their career is just amazing. (Which, if you haven't seen Bill Skarsgård and Landon Liboiron in Hemlock Grove yet, omg, go watch it what are you doing??)
The plot seems like, I dunno. For the length of the movie, I feel like maybe there should have been more plot points along the way, but honestly the plot doesn't leave anything to be desired anyway. So, I think it's just the right amount of satisfactory.
I'd say compared to other horror movies and thrillers, you DO want to yell at the characters, but not in a "stop being stupid" way, more of a dramatic irony way like Romeo and Juliet not being on the same page way.
The ending? *Chef's kiss* Amazing. I know some people will or have already asked questions about why other things weren't done instead of the actual ending, to which I say go suck an egg. I won't say any more so I can avoid spoilers. It's a feel-good ending all around. In my opinion anyway.
As far as content warnings go, I would not recommend this movie to people with triggers including blood, talk about inflicting pain in sensitive areas, drugs, drug use, drug overdose, etc.
If anyone wants to discuss or debate the theme of the movie being relationship dynamics, I'm VERY willing to talk about it respectfully. But, anyone reading this should know that that discussion will contain spoilers."
