Jazmin AdamsAs the oldest sister, this book hit me hard because it made me examine my relationship with my brother. This book can be best summarized as I support women’s rights and wrongs. This woman had every justification to be a D1 Crashout over everything that happened. The fact that she didn’t go Kill Bill is very telling! I loved it.
Jazmin AdamsThe author’s prose masterfully captures the complexities of grief and family dynamics, drawing me in completely. My only critique is that some of the dialogue feels a bit juvenile, particularly the nickname Kai’s older brother, a college student, uses—calling him Poop-son. Like you go, Glen Coco! Give us nothing, girl!
Jazmin AdamsThis book forced me to confront my high school years, which I despised, but I adored Sasha and Ezra! It’s undeniable that he’s a yearner, and thank goodness for that. We definitely need more romantic leads who pine. I'm thrilled that they found their happily ever after! Black joy is essential in a world that tries to stifle it!
