"The seven-year binge…actually, it took me nearly 10 years to “binge” because it started off a little slow, and, at the time, I was too naive to appreciate Pedro Pascal. However, once I restarted it last week, the binge was on! This is a pretty riveting account of the true saga of the Medellin drug cartel in Colombia, run in the 80’s and early 90’s by the notorious Pablo Escobar (played delightfully by Wagner Moura), and the DEA agents (Pedro Pascal and Boyd Holbrook, both terrific) chasing him. Seasons one and two tell the complete story of Escobar, while season three features Pedro Pascal taking down the Cali cartel. All of this is based on true events, but with some embellishment for dramatic purposes. Featuring a LOT of graphic violence, plus some occasional nudity and sex, but not overwhelmingly so. There is a fair amount of language too, but most of the dialogue is in Spanish with subtitles. Interesting and well-done. On Netflix. (I tried to continue with the spin-off/follow-up/prequel- Narcos: Mexico- based on real-life DEA agent Kiki Camarena- but just couldn’t enjoy it without the casts of the original…)"
