"Although the series is so long, it was always beautifully made and each season just seemed to get better and better. Truly addicting, with talented actors and aesthetically pleasing visionaries that perfectly portrayed what I had imaged in the books. Such an interesting and fun plot that I wish I could watch for the first time again."
"It's rare that an author writes an incrdible series of books and script, and then a brilliant showrunner comes and seemingly understands the book better than the author. Sonnenfield ("Pushing Daisies") was made to produce this series. Instead of making a larger than life, cinematic adaptation, Sonnenfield never shies away from the fact that it is about a children's book; with charming, quirky sets, you never lose sight of the fact that this is indeed a pretend story, in a pretend world. Thankfully, this allows the child viewers to remain calm in the face of the Baudelaire's perilous journey. Additionally, Neil Patrick's brilliant performance as the eccentric Count Olaf reads not as the menacing villain (unlike Carey), but as the oafish scoundrel that calls to mind Dick Dasterly, Boris Badenov, Mr. Krabs and Meowth. Anyone 8 and older will enjoy this soon-to-be family classic. (Just be sure to take your child's sensitivity level into consideration.)"
