"It is almost Dostoevsky, not a reproduction of the novella, but i think really captures the spirit. (update and perfectly in line with Richard Ayoade's sense of humour and style. Ayoade describes his humour as enjoying "a swing and a miss" [when we really expect the swing and a hit]). The double is sort of train-wreck tragic-comedy that can raise lots of questions about neuroticism, personality, and whether it's healthy to be normal in an insane society. Beautifully done. Which I think can be seen as the “inner conflict between our tendencies “ which the whole struggle is based on the true self. How the world expects a person to be vs how we really are. This is similar to how the black and white film “persona” was directed in the year 1966 (English subs) "
