Explore the secret life of a woman we all grew up watching: the sitcom wife. The series looks to break television convention and ask what the world looks like through her eyes. Alternating between single-camera realism and multi-camera zaniness, the formats will inform one another as we imagine what happens when the sitcom wife escapes her confines, and takes the lead in her own life.

"Starring Schitt’s Creek’s Annie Murphy (Alexis Rose) and Mary Hollis Inboden (The Real O’neals and The Righteous Gemstones), this show really breaks the sit-com mold. Annie Murphy plays a discontented housewife with a giant oaf of a husband and no one she would consider to be real friends. You watch in horror as everything goes totally sideways while trying her best to not end up in jail for murdering her horrible husband. Although Murphy’s Boston accent isn’t always on point, that is a very overlook-able and small complaint when you see what they are trying to accomplish here. With its half laugh track and half super gritty aesthetic, they way this show was crafted really goes the extra avant-grade mile. If you have the chance, check this one out

"Such an interesting concept! I love it! What happens when the sitcom wife from King of Queens goes offstage? This isn't particularly about that show but I swear, it's the closest sitcom to this show. So the harsh stage lights are gone, as is the audience and/or laughtrack. The silly and mostly stupid husband and his friends are still back on stage, where they will always exist. The wife does her part to add to the funny situations when she's onstage but once she's off on her own, it becomes a drama. The lights dim. The once cheerful ambience becomes what every other messy American house looks like. Without the razzle dazzle, it's just a lackluster den of chores to be done.
We laugh at the buffoonery and selfishness of the husband but how would it REALLY feel to be married to.....THAT?! It's easy to find the humor in the situations he puts himself in but no one in real life would put up with it. So what do you do if you're that sad and mistreated sitcom wife? Welllllll, watch and find out!

"A fantastic, satirical, deep, witty, and thought-provoking show about the life of a traditional wife when the mask is on and when it's off. Does a great job of depicting how marriage can tear apart a woman in so many different ways. I loved the characters in this and was hooked, always looking forward to watching the next episode. This show is masterful at building suspense, a gritty tension, and some awesome moments without making you feel extremely frustrated as the viewer. I felt like I could empathize with these characters, understand some moments on a deeper level, and I was perfectly happy watching the story unfold. The ONLY annoying part of this show is that there is a laugh track for the "sitcom" segments, which I got used to relatively quick and I do see how it adds to the ambience. I recommend this for people who like witty, unique, gritty dramas like Fleabag. "
"So interesting. A stuck housewife and her escape. I can’t stand her husband. 😤😤The laugh real was annoying but when the episode got dark, I forgot all about the laugh real "

"I had a pretty good time with this show. The entire cast was phenomenal, and so was the writing on this show. I also loved how it was able to seamlessly transition from mulit-cam sitcom to serious drama series. Another thing that was great was how the "sitcom" scenes in the show were in actuality very dark and gave us great introspective on the characters. The biggest gripe I had watching this was the pacing. Boy, this show was like watching a 5k marathon. Certain plot points were stretched waaaay to thin, but the finale made up for it. "
