"One of the best things I've ever watched. It's literally a work of art, especially the second season. Both seasons start with a murder at an after-party, the first season at a 15-year high school reunion and the second season at a wedding. Each episode tells a different character's recount of what happened in a different film genre. The first season has 8 episodes with the genres being rom-com, action movie, musical, psychological thriller, teen drama/high school party, animation like from Nickelodeon, police procedural, and kids' show. The second season has 10 episodes with the genres being rom-com the sequel, regency period piece like Pride & Prejudice, noir crime drama, twee indie film like Wes Anderson (my favorite!), suspenseful heist, '90s erotic thriller like Basic Instinct, epic/global romance, found-footage, '50s psychological melodrama (my 2nd favorite!), campy horror, and '80s soap opera. The research and care that went into each episode is exemplary. Cinematography, camera angles, types of film used...all the things that were used during different periods that are so unique to that era, it's all pure perfection. And I can't say enough about Ken Jeong's acting in season 2, episode 8. This is a comedy and I was literally laughing out loud in every episode. And yet, Ken's performance had my daughter crying and me feeling his pain vividly. I was not expecting that in this comedy show, but definitely not from Ken Jeong. Then there's the beautiful performance of Elizabeth Perkins. She was just incredible. She was my favorite character in a cast of excellent characters! I will watch this show again and probably again. I'm so sad and angry that it was canceled because there was supposed to be a third season. I can NOT recommend this show enough!!!"
