“Wow, I loved this one so much! I didn’t want it to be over because I was enjoying it so much, but I couldn’t stop turning pages! House of Glass is a gripping thriller that was packed with surprises and compelling characters.” -- Freida McFadden The next thrilling novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Sarah Pekkanen, House of Glass. On the outside they were the golden family with the perfect life. On the inside they built the perfect lie.A young nanny who plunged to her death, or was she pushed? A nine-year-old girl who collects sharp objects and refuses to speak. A lawyer whose job it is to uncover who in the family is a victim and who is a murderer. But how can you find out the truth when everyone here is lying?Rose Barclay is a nine-year-old girl who witnessed the possible murder of her nanny - in the midst of her parent's bitter divorce - and immediately stopped speaking. Stella Hudson is a best interest attorney, appointed to serve as counsel for children in custody cases. She never accepts clients under thirteen due to her own traumatic childhood, but Stella's mentor, a revered judge, believes Stella is the only one who can help. From the moment Stella passes through the iron security gate and steps into the gilded, historic DC home of the Barclays, she realizes the case is even more twisted, and the Barclay family far more troubled, than she feared. And there's something eerie about the house itself: It's a plastic house, with not a single bit of glass to be found. As Stella comes closer to uncovering the secrets the Barclays are desperate to hide, danger wraps around her like a shroud, and her past and present are set on a collision course in ways she never expected. Everyone is a suspect in the nanny's murder. The mother, the father, the grandmother, the nanny's boyfriend. Even Rose. Is the person Stella's supposed to protect the one she may need protection from?

"2.5⭐️ the writing and main character were dramatic. Thee storyline was weak relied on tropes and the story felt unoriginal."

"This was a BOTM pick for me and I had never read anything by this author before. I have since seen some polarizing information regarding this author, but I haven’t done any of my own research into the topic and since I already had the book I figured I would give it a chance. I seriously loved this story and it truly put me on edge while I was reading it. I even had to refrain from reading it late at night. I did figure out some of the twists prior to the reveals by the end, but some I didn’t see coming and this is never a deal breaker for me which is why I would still give this 5 stars. "

"Needed Greer Hendricks influence in the writing (I’ve read a few of their collabs and LOVED). Story was predictable/uncomplicated, I actually did not finish. The audiobook narrator was particularly terrible!"

"Wow.
If you get a chance to pick up this book - DO IT!
Truly, I love a good suspense thriller - but there’s just something about a psychological thriller that makes it hard to put down. And let me tell you - it was hard to put this down.
The characters, the plot, the heart pounding, the nerve racking feeling that this book delivered was NEXT LEVEL. I was hooked from the first chapter, as the plot evolved so did the characters (& motives) and then everything tied together so nicely.
I read this book any chance I could.. lunch breaks, coffee breaks, before bed, even during my lunch break while I was facilitating training. This book delivered EVERYTHING I love.
I cannot praise and recommend this book enough.
If you like psychological thrillers, major twists, or heart racing short chapters - you need to pick this book up.
Thank you, NetGalley for giving me early access to read this book. I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review."

"I'm such a fan of Sarah Pekkanen's collaborative works with Greer Hendricks, so I wanted to give her solo writing a try. It did NOT disappoint! I couldn't stop listening to this one. It's one of those thrillers where, when you get to the twist, your jaw drops... and then you immediately get angry at yourself for not seeing it the whole time. It was a mysterious adventure, and I loved it all. It has EVERYTHING: deception, affairs, murder (or is it?), classism, a creepy child, and some solid twists and turns.

If you enjoyed Pekkanen and Greer's works, I definitely recommend House of Glass. Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced audiobook."

"3.5⭐️ rounded up. Started out strong then just became mediocre. Too much repetitive self exploration of the MC’s own inner turmoil"

"Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the eARC.

3 Stars
Cover 2 Stars

This just wasn't for me. I kept forcing myself to pick it up only to set it aside. I have trouble with books about self-righteous do-gooder lawyers and sad-sack children. Stella was so obnoxious and the kid was annoying. I wanted to toss them both from the window - problem solved.

I've like Sarah and Greer's other books."
