A romantic cabin getaway doesn't go exactly as planned. High up on the windswept cliffs of Pale Peak, Faye and Felix celebrate their new engagement. But soon, a chorus of ghastly noises erupts from the nearby woods: the screams of animals, the cries of children, and the mad babble of a hundred mournful voices. A dark figure looms near the windows in the dead of night, whispering to Faye. As the weather turns deadly, Felix discovers that his terrified fiancée isn't just mumbling in her sleep - she's whispering back.Originally a contest-winning story on reddit.com's horror community NoSleep, Stolen Tongues has received widespread acclaim and is now being adapted into a feature film.

"Stolen Tongues has several amazing ideas and concepts, but it fumbles and doesn't use most of them to their full potential. The book starts off great, fast paced and wonderfully creepy, but it quickly devolves into repetitive and gory scenes. It's still a great read though, if just for the first half. "
"Spoilers(ish): This one had a terrifying premise, but really felt meh with the delivery. Although I do believe the author had the best of intentions, this is one of those cases where maybe a non-native American should have written this type of story. The storyline at times made zero sense with how affected the mc became over certain things and the beginning story felt very disjointed from the main story, still unsure what that had to do with it. 3.5 Stars overall. "
"The creepiest part of this story was the prologue about Collin’s parrot. The story as a whole was pretty good, it gave me some Paranormal Activity meets The Ritual vibes. "

"Pros💚: literally the scariest concept ever, great imagery
Cons💔: it’s narrated by the worst white guy you know"

"I just finished this book.. it definitely had its creepy moments and the ending was closure… but I was spooked more by the prologue with Carrot the Parrot than by the rest of the book.. just the thought of a parrot looking at you and going “Knock Knock” and nothing being on the other side of the door.. is CREEPY."

"Definitely has some creepy, suspenseful moments, but perhaps too many. They become repetitive and eventually lose impact. The author writes well, but the story starts meandering and the conclusion is rather dissatisfying. 2 1/2 but approaching 3 stars."
