""Move over, Ove (in Fredrik Backman's A Man Called Ove)--there's a new curmudgeon to love." --Booklist (starred review). "Eleanor Oliphant is a truly original literary creation: funny, touching, and unpredictable. Her journey out of dark shadows is absolutely gripping."--Jojo Moyes, #1New York Times bestselling author of Me Before You. "Deft, compassionate and deeply moving -- Honeyman's debut will have you rooting for Eleanor with every turning page." -- Paula McClain, New York Times bestselling author of The Paris Wife and Circling the Sun. No one's ever told Eleanor that life should be better than fine. Meet Eleanor Oliphant: She struggles with appropriate social skills and tends to say exactly what she's thinking. Nothing is missing in her carefully timetabled life of avoiding social interactions, where weekends are punctuated by frozen pizza, vodka, and phone chats with Mummy. But everything changes when Eleanor meets Raymond, the bumbling and deeply unhygienic IT guy from her office. When she and Raymond together save Sammy, an elderly gentleman who has fallen on the sidewalk, the three become the kinds of friends who rescue one another from the lives of isolation they have each been living. And it is Raymond's big heart that will ultimately help Eleanor find the way to repair her own profoundly damaged one. Smart, warm, uplifting, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is the story of an out-of-the-ordinary heroine whose deadpan weirdness and unconscious wit make for an irresistible journey as she realizes, The only way to survive is to open your heart"--

"This is a really interesting story! I like to go into books somewhat blind so I didn’t know what it was about. It’s a really beautiful story of friendship and growth with some unexpected twists and turns. Eleanor is a fun character. Some of her personality traits were more believable than others and sometimes they contradicted one another but overall created a very interesting character. I listened to this book which was nice. The story might have felt slower than I’d like if I ready the physical book. There is some tags suggesting this book is a romance but it definitely isn’t a romance. "

"It seemed like such a normal slice-of-life novel and it is but also, so much more. I fell in love with the way the character was written and how things were dealt with. It was such a peaceful book to read"

"Not what I was expecting! A delightful surprise of a page-turner! I don't know if there's a movie in the works, but if there is, Chris O'Dowd IS Raymond. : )) Thanks to all who recommended this one! "

"This was an interesting read with a minor plot twist at the end. It was a slow read and often got a little boring with the main character being a different personality. I read this in 2 days, overall, a great message on mental health and understanding how much kindness truly means to strangers."
