"4.5 ⭐️ I realized while watching this movie the other day that I’ve never actually read the book, so I decided to pick it up! As expected, there was more detail to the story in the book, which was great to experience. I did find that the film adaptation created more tension in certain areas and I missed those moments while reading. It’s always tricky to review a book when you’ve already seen the movie since you already know what’s going to happen. I can see how this would be an unpredictably exciting read the first time through. "
"I found this book to have a good narrative quality and the appropriate amount of suspense and mystery. I enjoyed the character development and the exploration of the dystopian society. The ending felt rushed; it seems like the sequel book will have to carry the weight of making more sense of events of the last few chapters from this novel, which I think takes away from the quality of this book as a stand-alone piece.
