Craig S. That and the Russo Brothers returning were leaked about a week ago on the YouTube channels I watch so this didn't surprise me. It sounds good to me trying something different with the lore. The crowd at SDCC went nuts when Downey took off the Doon mask to reveal his face.

Road Master That was an awesome reveal.

Jennifer Calquhoun Apparently, but perhaps not actually. I’d be surprised if the movie comes out and RDJ really is Dr Doom.

Road Master They just recently announced it at San Diego Comic Con that RDJ is playing Dr. Doom and The Russo Brothers are returning for another Avengers.

Jennifer Calquhoun Yes, I saw that, but I was saying that I think it may be a multiverse/timeline trick to generate attention and curiosity for the movie. I was thinking he wouldn’t be Doom throughout the whole movie, but I just read someone explaining that it might be to fix the timeline damage done in Loki.

Craig S. The simplest story imo is that he's Tony Stark raised in Latveria in the new FF movie. They've already said that the FF are in another dimension, so Tony could just easily be their Doom that I assume comes to our MCU with them for both new Avengers movies that Feige confirmed they were in.

Michael Prentice No, no, no, no, no. No no no! I do not like this idea at all. Downey jr. is Iron Man, always has been, always will be. It's probably just a rumour, anyway.

Road Master Doesn't sound like it. The Russo brothers and RDJ himself announced it at San Diego Comic Con.

Sofia Rickett He will always be Iron Man in my book but I trust him so I’ll give it a go but I can’t be sure

Jojo I'm really stoked about this! And very curious as to how it will turn out. Being a massive comic book learner that I am there has been a couple of evil versions of Iron Man in the past, which I really enjoyed. I'm open to any and all interpretations of characters as long as their main characteristics stay intact. And if I don't like it for some reason, I always have comic books to go back to.

Errika Mason I saw this news yesterday. I guess it could work if the timelines are different, and obviously don't intersect with which heroes are in the Avengers at that time. It IS strange, but oh well. There are actors that have played roles in Marvel films AND DC films. I suppose this isn't THAT unusual. All I can say is: Wait and see...😏

Rori Rodriguez I'll watch RDJ in anything. Even if he played every role in a movie. I'd still watch.

Road Master Honestly, a movie in which RDJ played every role could be a really good time. Everybody. Even the dog.

Rori Rodriguez And he'd still get an Oscar for playing the dog too.

Madison Aiello The Russo brothers would not have agreed to come back unless they believed they had a great vision. I trust them. RDJ wasn’t my first pick for Doctor Doom but I think he can pull it off. Since Doctor Doom very rarely takes the mask off I don’t think it will be much of a problem that he was iron man.

Road Master That was the other part of this. RDJ said he wouldn't return to the MCU without the Russo brothers.

Sage DeForest I have no interest in robert downey jr until he puts on bf again🤣. heres for a 🤞 tropic thunder 2. but in all seriousness I find it funny how fans are getting triggered when the entire superhero genre borrows cast members across films. it's not like this is a rare one off.

Road Master I honestly don't feel one way or the other about it. I quit caring about the MCU a while back. So it's the Hollywood politics and fan maneuvering that fascinate me.
