Cleavon Little, Harvey Korman, Gene Wilder, Madeline Khan star, and Dom DeLuise has a small role. But let's face it: This film had so many racial slurs it could never be made today. 😏"

Today’s satirical movies have lost the ability to be enjoyable. They mock and seem to hate the movies or genre they are “Spoofing” You must show love and respect both the original material and the audience of the material to be funny and successful."

An I love Wilder in almost everything he does. At times it seems very plot-rushed. The ending to this day still makes me crack up though!"

When I rewatch films like these I like to take notes on what's problematic and dive into it more after. Knowing cultural context can explain why that's was ok then why we shouldn't be seeing tropes or stereotypes like that in current film"

Like, High Anxiety, Young Frankenstein, (just to name a few), are written and produced in a time, where, I guess his place in Hollywood, allowed Mel Brook's to get away with the things he did....totally great comic relief!"

This is a film that could never be made today with its subject material but it still stands tall as one of the first movies to only tell racists that they're wrong but dumb. It's one of the most perfect comedy films ever made"

If you were to walk in on someone watching it you'd assume it was an awfully racist movie, but my liberal therapist told me to go watch this and I was shocked. It's about a black man in the old West overcoming hardships and being successful. I think many people miss the point of what the movie is actually saying and think it's just offensive, but it's actually making fun of racists."

I love Mel Brooks because he's brash and in your face, but I also love Wes Anderson who is more subtle and quiet.
