"Sylvester Stallone (who acted AND wrote it) is superb as Rocky Balboa, a former boxer who gets back into the Ring with the heavyweight champion of the world. This movie is the ultimate underdog story, and who doesn’t love a film like this? The music is great, the message is amazing and after watching this movie, you HAVE TO see the second one. Highly recommended. "
""Rocky" is a classic sports drama that packs a punch and earns a solid 4 stars from me. Sylvester Stallone's iconic portrayal of the underdog boxer, Rocky Balboa, is nothing short of remarkable. The film's raw and gritty portrayal of life in a working-class Philadelphia neighborhood adds depth to the character and the story.
The training sequences, especially the famous run up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, are adrenaline-pumping and inspiring. The film's theme of perseverance and the American Dream resonates strongly.
While "Rocky" is undoubtedly a memorable and influential film, it does have a few moments that feel slightly dated, and some of the supporting characters lack development. Nevertheless, it remains a must-see for its impact on the sports genre and Stallone's career-defining performance. A solid 4 stars for this classic underdog tale."
