"1000/10 🌟 Funny, fun, and fabulous! I loved this movie and have watched it more times than I can count because it’s just that enjoyable! Starting powerful female artists and actresses such as Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Sarah’s Paulson, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helen Bonham Carter, Awkwafina, and MORE! All female heist! So amazing! Highly recommend! "
"(7.5/10) I really liked how this film wasn’t pushy about having all female leads (which was amazing by the way I love them) it just effortlessly normalized an all woman heist squad and I desperately need more of it. Their banter was amazing and the heist was *chef’s kiss* but it was pretty standard for a heist besides all women and I kind of wanted to see more of a spin on the trope."

I loved all the Ocean's movies, including the original from 1960, so I was really looking forward to this all-female cast. As you can see, if with my being excited to watch it, I am quite late to the viewing party. I just watched it tonight and I'm very happy I did. I loved the cast and it was very weird watching Helena Bonham Carter in this type of role and without her accent.
There were a couple of problems with the movie that kept it from being excellent. One is that the eight women aren't very well fleshed out, in my opinion. You don't get to know them very well as individuals, something that wasn't an issue for me in the Eleven through Thirteen movies. Second, the heist went off without a hitch and there was no real climax to the movie. It wasn't exciting. I never felt a sense of urgency from anyone except from Helena's character. I am sad that the all women movie didn't get the same care & love put into their scripts as the men-casted movies did.
This movie was about Danny Ocean's sister, Debbie, played by Sandra Bullock. I don't understand why they showed him as being dead (but maybe not because he IS a conman), and not have George Clooney do a quick cameo at the end. That definitely would have made the ending a lot less lackluster. I know it's been a while since I watched that trilogy but I'm sure the last one didn't end with Danny's death. I mean, what a sucky ending to an awesome trilogy, right?! Instead we get a super small cameo from Elliott Gould, Danny's friend from the trilogy, who acknowledges Danny's death but doesn't confirm it. I really hated that entire storyline and it would have ruined the movie for me if I didn't tell myself that Danny's not dead, he's just in hiding. But then why wouldn't he tell his own conwoman sister instead of making her saddened by his death? UUUUGGGGAH! That whole thing frustrates me.
I would say, if you have loved the franchise up until this movie, you should give this one a watch. It's worth it...mostly."
"A genuinely enjoyable heist/con movie. I felt it had a different vibe than the other Oceans movies, but is charming in its own rite. Clever, funny, and full of banter (a requirement for the Oceans franchise). Characters do feel more fleshed out than several in Oceans, which I enjoyed. That being said, I thought the ending was somewhat more predictable than the other Oceans films. Still a great one, and is better than most other con-artist movies, but is a tough contender in the Oceans universe."
