"This film captures the ennui of a failing marriage. It's heartbreaking and a slow despair that crashes at the end and this shows that. Great acting all around. "

"Felt very real and vulnerable. Adam Driver’s performance stole the show (per usual) and Laura Dern is a national treasure."

"I’ve never liked Scarlett Johansson but this movie made me dislike her even more. A beautiful performance by Adam drive and that’s the only reason I liked it."

"Contrary to what Hollywood believes, the average American does not live in nor is familiar with life in New York/LA and having a career in showbiz. I'm tired of seeing movies targeted toward the "average American" audience that only represent this specific lifestyle. As an actual average American who has been married and divorced twice myself, I found this movie completely irrelevant and unrelatable."

"The way this movie was filmed was so interesting to me, it had Wes Anderson vibes and there were parts that made it seem like a play with the fade in and out of scenes which is what the director was probably going for and I’d say he nailed it. I liked how “real” this relationship seemed because it’s true: people do get divorced. The notes the parents wrote to each other were nice, I kind of wished the couple read them to each other in their marriage counseling session but it was also great to see the father reading that note out loud to his son because his son found it in his mom’s room."

"This film had been on my radar for a couple of months. I just didn't have the interest to press play until I watched and really liked White Noise (from the same director and lead actor). This movie (Marriage Story) left me very sad and depressed. Not that it's a bad thing. I found myself recongnizing behavior patterns of my own relationship. I don't know if I'm scared of divorce or separation but I sometimes get that feeling of beeing trapped in a relasionship or in parent responsibility."

"Beautiful story, amazing actors. It was interesting to see how even with the arguments and disputes at the end of the day they still really cared for one another."
