"This movie is the perfect example of "Don't judge a book by its cover". The title would make one expect a cheesy B movie, but what we get is a character study on the human condition when killing, whether it be man or beast, can take a toll on a person even though it may be for the greater good. Sam Elliott plays a man who sacrificed his own happiness in the service of his country without much praise or accolades. We look back on his life through a series of flashbacks as he ponders what could have been with melancholy and regret. It's a well produced film that's kind of a slow burn, but unexpectedly intriguing at the same time. Kind of sad with an anticlimactic ending. 7/10"

"Surprising movie, not at all what I expected with this title. Slow and melancholic, it ended up capturing my attention nonetheless. On the whole, nice and good story and characters, just like I imagine Sam Elliott to be in real life. Reminded me of when I was a kid, and thought the world was an honest and kind place. Quite a nice change to watch this instead of another loud, fast, and violent movie. Edit: Thinking about it the next morning and - what if the two events mentioned in the title are allegorical? You can certainly understand this movie in more than one way... and just the essential will always remain true."

"Phenomenal. Unsure why it’s listed as rated R. Was unrated when I saw it. Some violence. No sex, language, drugs, etc. just a really great, really terrible movie. "

"Goofy ideas executed with seriousness, almost to a detriment. Definitely watch it if you're interested, but be prepared to believe the low ratings. "
