"4⭐️ I watched this fictionalized account after seeing the fantastic documentary The Janes. The real story of these incredible women had plenty of drama and tension to give a dramatization more than enough bite. Obviously the filmmakers wanted to glam it up a bit and add more of a Hollywood-ized story arc. However it’s also clear there was a goal of highlighting the contrast between privileged yet oppressed 60s housewives and the grim reality of unwanted pregnancies. This isn’t a perfect movie by any means but it still compellingly shines a light on the absolute crap women have had to deal with. I would just really like a grittier, not so neatly wrapped version based on the real Janes story. #womensstories #womenshistorymonth #badasswomen"
