Looper

"I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this film at the beginning to be honest. I hated how instead of showing how the job of Looper worked, they just explained it through JGL’s narration. I thought it was lazy exposition. The movie got better as it progressed, though it did have some plot elements that didn’t exactly make sense or that weren’t well explained. Then again, you don’t HAVE to explain the genesis of every sci-fi or fantastical element in a sci-fi/fantasy film. The entire story was an extremely fascinating concept. I did enjoy this interpretation of time travel, even if it was confusing at times. The editing was the real star of the film though. The cuts between then (but really the future) and now were jarring and really set the tone. I also liked the circular nature of the plot as it was very symbolic of the nature of time as a whole. Ending where we began, with a violent death in a field in Kansas, really cinched it for me."

"Looper is a decent action/sci-fi movie, I wouldn’t say it’s the absolute best for the bunch but it is entertaining! The acting is pretty good and the concepts on display are very very cool..I just think sometimes things can miss the mark a little. Also I wouldn’t think about the time travel to much…I feel like there would be some holes…but If you want something entertaining and with a cool vibe and concept pop this bad boy in. "
