Ma Rainey's Black Bottom

"I enjoyed this film by August Wilson. I saw two of his stage plays which chronicled the Black Experience during different decades. This unfolds just like a stageplay. There are excellent performances by Chadwick Bozeman and Viola Davis. There are some passionate scenes that broke my heart, as the characters spoke of racism. Sadly, there is so much talent that simply is ignored or misappropriated."

"I'm not sure what I was expecting going in, but the style of this was very different. Viola Davis is also completely transformed, I seriously couldnt stop watching her. And it also stars Chadwick Boseman - these two are enough reason to watch this film. "

What a way to end a career for Chadwick!"

"A bit confused why the vast majority of this movie had nothing to do with Ma Rainey. I was expecting a biopic of at least SOME of her but her story was very scant in this, she was a side character and the movie focused on Levee…."
