"A flashy, highly imaginative, and larger-than-life journey that attempts to navigate itself through a myriad of emotional and grief stricken thematic elements. Unfortunately, it never finds its identity as it skirts between the fantastical and the mundane resulting in a trippy dream with some nightmarish pit-stops in between. The cinematography is surprisingly effective considering it’s 90% CGI/Green Screen. The visuals are striking. The worlds are a beautiful amalgamation of hyperbole and realism, all of which are captured with an energetic tenderness. Dreams are not dreams without the dreamer. The dreamers in Slumberland obviously enjoyed their time - starting with Jason Momoa. Dude had a blast filming this, you could just tell. Momoa was brimming with energy and vigor, delivering an exaggerated and animated performance; a treat to watch. Chris O’Dowd was abnormally solemn in role which is counter to his normal, witty and comedic schticks, yet, it worked. Lastly, Marlow Barkley - what a bright future she has ahead. Marlow did a superb job as she nailed both the tragedies and the jubilations with a maturity beyond her years."
