"I am rating this early Hollywood film 2 stars because of its depiction of Asian people. Although Soo Yong, an Asian actress of the era, has a part, it was hard to watch the other actors being typecast. Hattie McDaniel, a famous black actress of the 1930's and 1940's, who won the Academy Award for "Gone With the Wind", has a role as Jean Harlow's shipboard maid and pal. Clark Gable plays the role of the Ship Captain and ex-boyfriend to Jean Harlow. An extremely young Rosalind Russell plays the role of Clark Gable's love interest and ship officer. The plot is about a conspiracy between sea pirates and members aboard the ship. There are a couple of tense scenes, and the story is acted out pretty well. It is up to you if you decide to watch this film. It may be somewhat uncomfortable to watch a few of the scenes. "
