Overwhelmed by her suffocating schedule, touring European princess Ann takes off for a night while in Rome. When a sedative she took from her doctor kicks in, however, she falls asleep on a park bench and is found by an American reporter, Joe Bradley, who takes her back to his apartment for safety. At work the next morning, Joe finds out Ann's regal identity and bets his editor he can get exclusive interview with her, but romance soon gets in the way.

"I had this film on my movie list forever, and I finally watched it. The plot is as charming as I have read. Audrey Hepburn does a great job in her first movie role. She has such a sweet and coy way of charming everyone she encounters. Gregory Peck is of course too old for her, but most of her leading men were at least a decade or two older than her during her career. Audrey and Gregory are good actors and have a fair amount of chemistry, but not in a romantic way, at least not to me. The entire film was shot in Rome, Italy. Sites such as the colosseum and other famous places are seen during the film. The acting is good, but the praise goes to Audrey Hepburn because of how regal she performed as a young princess who wants to have a day away from royal affairs."

"9/10 THE ENDING WHYYYYYY!? But I love it, the movie wouldn’t be as memorable or realistic without its ending. I love Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn with my whole heart and soul, and Rome is my dream-place so this movie is just everything I need in a classic romance comfort movie."

"I'm so mad so utterly mad with the ending but it makes sense without spoiling anything I finally got another glimpse of Audrey Hepburn I have only seen breakfast at Tiffany's and this was a delight her personality is so prevalent on the screen and she is just so stunning her and Gregory peck was unexpected as a couple since I only think of him from the omen but the chemistry was magnetic I'm not a big rewatcher but i could see myself watching this again and again"

"An oldie, but a goodie!! I’m a big fan of Audrey Hepburn so naturally I loved this movie! It’s a great classic romcom! Despite it being old and in black and white it’s very entertaining!"

"Great comedy in which two people lie to and take advantage of each other, but it's not as bad as it sounds. Audrey Hepburn is impossibly charming in her debut. SPOILER ALERT The ending is bittersweet, but realistic, given the era. The contrast between duty and love kinda makes it the rom-com version of Casablanca. "
