Silent Night

"Most of the reviews for this movie were negative and I couldn't DISAGREE more! Revenge movies are one of my favorite genres and this is an exceptional one. Although the storyline is similar to Death Wish, John Woo crafted a film devoid of dialogue where all pertinent information is conveyed through text messages and police radio announcements, and the actors' emotions. Joel Kinnaman excels in his portrayal of a father grieving the loss of his son to a gangland shooting, depicting heart-wrenching sadness, unconditional parental love, and furious rage, all without uttering a word. The first half of the film depicts Kinnaman planning and training for his revenge for a year, then the second half, sh*t gets wild. John Wick style action sequences that wouldn't be complete without the prerequisite slow motion thrown in, which is John Woo's signature flair. Some parts may seem unrealistic, but it's to be expected for this type of stuff. I was thoroughly entertained. 9/10"

Unfortunately for me the action scenes didn’t save this one for me. Save yourself the time and watch, the much better, Violent Night, instead."
