"Setting aside politics, ongoing conflict and personal opinion, my review is based on the movie and acting. My stars go to this incredible actress who has mastered this role. The Movie was very very slow. Hats off however to how well Helen Mirren portrayed Golda’s looks, the way she walked, and talked, how she was viewed and most of all the hair! "

"This is a biopic in the style of LINCOLN in the sense that it exclusively focuses on one specific event in their lives as opposed to a full-fledged biopic. In this case, the exclusive focus of the film is on Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir’s critical decisions made during the course of the Yom Kippur War in 1973 spanning only a small number of days, all the while undergoing cancer treatment. One thing the film really succeeds in doing is putting the viewer in her headspace, showing her thinking process and how it influenced the decisions she made based on the information she received from the advisors. Helen Mirren did a phenomenal job of embodying her (I’m really surprised she did not get an Oscar nomination for this, which would’ve been deserved even if the film wasn’t perfect). The supporting cast was solid too (especially Liev Schreiber as Henry Kissinger and Camille Cottin as her secretary). The Oscar nomination for makeup this film received was extremely well deserved for this film. A good watch."
