"This was just kind of middle of the road for me. I didn't love it, I didn't hate it. Reminded me of Cujo, but with a lion. I was actually into it until about two thirds of the way through, when (without spoiling anything) the lion becomes more like Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers, and seems unkillable. That's where they lost me. Then the man vs lion fight at the end should have been over in two seconds. Not realistic at all, but mildly entertaining. 5/10"
"4/5 ⭐️ - I wouldn’t consider this a horror movie but it definitely was mixed in with the genre of action and thriller. The lion was a big unrealistic. But this movie definitely had some fantasy, heartbreak, and love intertwined in it! I wish there could have been some more context on African culture and there was some views here and there. I definitely could feel the emotions these characters played in and the ending was honestly kinda epic. I felt maddened about the lion hunters! As an animal lover, I had to remind myself that this is not really going on and it’s actually a giant teddy bear being portrayed as a lion but overall I enjoyed it! The images in the end are gorgeous!!! "
"If you want a thriller that has you yelling at the screen and possibly even scream a time or two (I did once, but it was loud enough for two) then this is a good one. The classic dumb moves and completely irrational animal behavior usually seen in shark movies is presented here with a lion, but to their credit I think this lion was pretty realistic in a lot of scenes. They also add a backstory to the lion which is interesting but also puts a big downer on the movie because it feels like one big misunderstanding. Still a fun watch though!"
"⭐️⭐️1/2 This is a simple short straight to the point 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫/𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫 that doesn’t really break any new ground but still manages to entertain. It’s not as well rounded as 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐲. My only reason for watching 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 is because 𝐈𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐛𝐚 was in it. Ever since he played the role of 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥 in 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐫𝐞 I’ve been a long time fan. (Still the best role of his career in my humble opinion) The film take place in beautiful 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 as we watch a man basically protect his two daughter at all odds against a super predator blood thirsty 𝐂𝐆𝐈 Lion. I feel the cgi is one of the downfalls to this film because it’s looks so unrealistic idk. There is a lot of suspension of disbelief placed upon the audience. Characters make dumb decisions. Like who tries to wallow talkie someone when 𝐉𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐕𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐬 Lion is out here hunting people down one by one. With a ending fight scene I couldn’t believe at all. 𝐈𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐬 puts on a great performance but idk if that’s enough to save the film. If your looking for a good popcorn movie with all the fat trimmed or a fan of 𝐈𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐛𝐚 then it’s definitely worth watching at least once."
