Felix AcciaiA short but perfectly paced read, just enough mystery and intrigue to keep you hooked then it quickly escalates. The horror of not having control of your own body, of not being totally lucid was perfectly written. Throughly enjoyed from beginning to end. Highly recommend.

Felix AcciaiIt's a slow start with a main character that isn't very likable, but that's kind of the point. In the beginning, she's the pure embodiment of fight or flight. She's not the idealistic victim, she's just a victim. She built her life around that and let it define her, so of course she's not the most palatable main character out there. I wasn't a fan of the beginning, but I appreciated it a lot more once I finished the book within the context of the story as a whole. The ending was the best part, it was the real love letter to slashers that the whole book was meant to be. The in universe papers at the end of every chapter were a fun touch to help ground you in the universe. Though, it's final girl as an actual phenomenon gimmick is a little too much at times for the occasional serious scenes, it was overall enjoyable to read. I'd only recommend it if you're a fan of slashers, though. It's certainly not for everyone.
