Maren FoundAbsolutely loved this sequel, I love me a good hockey romance and it was real enough to make me hope that I can have this type of relationship in my own life
Maren FoundA little slow to start and bland/basic at times but the ENDING oh my god it left on SUCH a plot twist and cliffhanger and that’s it. No end to the story ever. Kinda liked that though, had me screaming in my room though from shock at the fact it had ended where it did.
Maren FoundAfter reading and loving Icebreaker, I immediately bought this books as well. With such a busy semester I hadn’t gotten the chance to read much until recently, but I finished this book in three days. I definitely need to reread Icebreaker now that I know the stories of these characters and I felt like I’d forgotten who some of the people were. I’m so excited for the book about Henry to come out and I will definitely be rereading both Icebreaker and Wildfire right before Henry’s book is released. The spice was perfect and this book just warmed my heart, I needed a good happy romance novel like this right now.
Maren FoundObviously not the best book I’ve ever read, it was very simple but it was wholesome and a just a relatively lighthearted read that let me escape reality and dream of beach houses and first love again so I enjoyed it.
Maren FoundI loved this book. I think it helps that I love Taylor Jenkins Reid (thank you Daisy Jones and the Six for getting me into her) and the complexity of her characters. They are so lovable and hatable at the same time (at least in this book and Daisy Jones they are) and there are so many plot twists I never would have expected (the main one being Evelyn’s one true love — no naming-of-another-one-of-TJR’s-books-on-my-TBR (one true loves) intended) and I couldn’t put it down. I also learned from a friend who is a fellow TJR stan that the character Mick Riva is a constant amongst Daisy Jones, Evelyn Hugo, Malibu Rising, and Carrie Soto is back so now that I’ve read 2 out of the 4 of those books and know that Malibu Rising really surrounds Mick….I have even more TJR books to add to the list!! Love love love and will likely read this and Daisy Jones again to find any other connections knowing that TJR did that.
Maren FoundI am a big hockey lover, so a hockey-figure skater romance was intriguing. I really loved the plot of this book and I appreciated how healthy the relationship was between Nate and Anastasia as well as the various plot twists that occurred. A lot of the characters were very lovable (I’m talking about you, Henry) or despicable (**** you Aaron) and overall the book was very heartwarming. It did feel very Wattpad at times though and it was much spicier than I was expecting which was nice but almost a little bit much at times, hence the 4/5 instead of 5/5.
Maren FoundI. Absolutely. Adored. This. Book. I could really relate to it since I love the Vineyard and knew a lot of the places they mentioned, the reservation itself reminded me of PB, and I connected to the breakup situation as well as not being on the Vineyard for two years and missing it after going there every summer. This book has made me want to summer on the Vineyard and made me so incredibly happy. It was such a feel-good book (had me choked up a lot too) and I will probably read this again, and again, and again (new comfort book). I want this type of love and family life and I loved the banter and nicknames and basically everything about this book. ❤️💕
Maren FoundA little slow to start and at times throughout, also a bit hard to follow all the different characters but I loved the many plot twists and final reveal of the murder mystery.
