"A drama series based off a book of the same name about generations of a family striving to survive, starting during the Japanese occupation of Korea in 1915 leaping around years up to 1989! Worth watching as the highs and lows of each family member is shown through the years of when they first meet to a passing of a great friendship!"
"One of the few tv shows/movies that is actually better than the book. This show is outstanding. The storytelling and locations are just beautiful. The actors became their characters! I did not know so much of this history and through these characters learned so much, and cried a ton as well. I am so glad it was renewed for a second season because there is a lot more of the story they haven’t explored. A must watch if not just for the history lesson."
"Good but the book is way better. The earthquake scene is not in the book and didn't need to be in the show really though we get a look at Hansu's life before he became wealthy. Adding this episode and leaving out what happened to Noa then the time lines jumping all over the place makes things messy. Hope season 2 fills in the large gaps in the storyline. "
"Loved the book so I was really looking forward to this series coming out. I even signed up for Apple TV so I could get it. The series is not exactly like the book but I like the way they go back and forth in time to create the story. It's like it was created in such a way that it could continue beyond the original series. The young lives of Noah and Mozasu weren't really shown in the series so a continuation will have many more stories to tell. Love the cast. I think each one was well-suited to their role. Looking forward to more of the series."
