Love the juxtapostion between the 'rules' they set, and the personalities of the characters. They arent allowed or even supposed to have emotions, yet all of them do except the main character, who is supposed to have emotions like that of a human. I loved the plot, but even if it was just people coming in and doing the games and the judgements, with no major plot, the premise carries so well, [1/2]"

rob_pardo shared a tip "This a one shot anime, so no second seasons, but it’s definitely worth the watch. The opening song is super catchy, and it’s what peaked my interest in the series first. My partner and I started watching it, and probably would have finished it in a couple days but some of the content discussed in the show is heavy and you may need a short break from it. Nothing to scare anyone off, but the basis of the show is whether you are reborn or go to ****, taking a lot of key points from Hinduism (One of the characters is part lotus flower). The main setting is in the bar Quindecim, and is manned by Decim. Think of him as a judge of souls. Watching his character grow is a major point of the show, and it uses close up shots of the characters faces to help express the feelings and emotions being conveyed. It’s short, so definitely give it a try. If anything, you’ll have Flyers by BRADIO stuck in your head."

wasian shared a tip "psychological show that got me really thinking about the stuff i did in my lifetime. concept never got old and the world of death parade’s a brutal one. it’s a true must watch for the psychological horror fans! the only thing keeping it from a 10/10 was the slightly long backstory but it’s still a damn good one! 9/10"

A great experience that I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a darker story with high stakes and mystery. The raw emotion and build up reminds me of Deadman Wonderland. Definitely want on my shelf but just barely misses my favorites list. It's a very elite list."

Then this ramps that concept up, where your soul ends up going all determining on your base needs as a human. It explores morality, and the fragility of relationships, your life. I wish there was more, it's a wonderful concept with really fun intriguing characters!"

niasekayi shared a tip "7/10- I liked this anime, and it’s super sentimental. My only issue was it moved slow. And for only 12 eps (I think) only about 50% of was worth my time 🤭. But I do have to say that the overall anime is really good and a beautiful story!"
