Saving the world is a test no school of magic can prepare you for in the triumphant conclusion to the New York Times bestselling trilogy that began with A Deadly Education and The Last Graduate. The one thing you never talk about while you're in the Scholomance is what you'll do when you get out. Not even the richest enclaver would tempt fate that way. But it's all we dream about, the hideously slim chance we'll survive to make it out the gates and improbably find ourselves with a life ahead of us, a life outside the Scholomance halls. And now the impossible dream has come true. I'm out, we're all out--and I didn't even have to turn into a monstrous dark witch to make it happen. So much for my great-grandmother's prophecy of doom and destruction. I didn't kill enclavers, I saved them. Me, and Orion, and our allies. Our graduation plan worked to perfection: we saved everyone and made the world safe for all wizards and brought peace and harmony to all the enclaves of the world. Ha, only joking! Actually it's gone all wrong. Someone else has picked up the project of destroying enclaves in my stead, and probably everyone we saved is about to get killed in the brewing enclave war on the horizon. And the first thing I've got to do now, having miraculously got out of the Scholomance, is turn straight around and find a way back in.

"I liked all the books in the series , but liked this finale slightly better than the first two which is unusual for me."

"I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S FINISHED! I don't know why I expected it to be like Temeraire series, but I did. Unlike the 2nd book that seemed to be too full of details, this one seemed too short. Where's El fighting the Big Bad? I was so waiting for it! I thought there'd be the 4th story about Ophelia and her downfall. But the book was fantastic, nonetheless, and I feel a bit childishly happy for El & Orion. A delightful read!"
"A very clean ending to the trilogy. It got a little repetitive throughout the book and the drama between Orion and El was hard to swallow sometimes. The only thing that was missing from their dialogue was "you're breaking my heart, you're going down a road I can't follow." And honestly this story had more genocide than Anakin, so there's that. I would love to see this series become a show or a movie. 8/10."
"An amazing close to the trilogy. I'd been on a hiatus from reading, but this book drew me back in instantly. There were tropes and expectations I had for this book, especially after the end of book 2, and am happy to say virtually none of them were used, and those that were used were well done. El's reactions in the aftermath of The Last Graduate were so very real and relateable that I actually had to put the book away so I wouldn't start crying in the middle of a waiting room. The truth behind certain matters that came out (avoiding spoilers by being vague) was surprising, but not out of place in the story. Same with the conclusion. In retrospect it all fits, I just didn't see it going there as I was reading it, which I always enjoy. Highly recommend."
