"This is my favorite book from Brashares ❤️it’s such a shame that she never got the chance to continue ( I know she wanted to do more with the story ) with this epic love story "

"Not impressed so far. Melodramatically humid prose reigns. I expected more from the _Traveling Pants_ author."

"Redemptive in a way I didn't expect from the Twilight-y beginning. "

"Excellent premise, but I forced my way through the first 4/5ths of the book. The last fifth being where things happened, albeit unsatisfactorily."

"I really liked this book...enough to read it in 3 days...but NO book should ever end like this one! It was terrible and even a sequel won’t make up for it! It leaves you, pun intended, suspended in time without ever knowing what really happened. I’m so sorry I wasted an entire day finishing it. I rarely get these opportunities to read like that. 😔😔😔"

"Well it’s been a hot second since I’ve read Ann Brashares. I have very fond memories of reading the 4th Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants book on an interminable bus ride in high school, in which I used reading the book as an excuse not to talk to anyone. So for that alone I’ll always be grateful to the author!

But for this one, the concept was amazing, but the focus was a bit off. I didn’t really care about the romance as much, and I don’t think it was as emotionally resonant as it could have been. But that being said, I also felt the same way about How to Stop Time, a somewhat similar story by one of my favorite authors (Matt Haig), so maybe even though I’m drawn to these stories, it’s just never what I want it to be.

I can’t hold that against the author, but I will probably skirt around these types of books in the future. I’m not a glutton for punishment, but who knows, maybe I’ll finally find whatever I’m looking for in these stories!"
