"I loved reading this book. Wells had such a fanciful way of describing what no one has ever seen, but still beautifully making the fantasy perfectly graspable and tangible. Although, as with many of his books, mostly written in narrative, it is still astoundingly suspenseful and incredibly creative. (The movie adaptation that seems the closest to this book is the 1960 version starring Rod Taylor and Alan Young. With the glaring exception of how Eloi looked, I am happy with the movie. But, of course, no movie ever gets it 100% correct! 😂)"

"H. G. Wells is a fantastic introductory author into Sci-fi literature. The Time Machine may be the best book to start with. The ideas are super easy to understand, the science doesn't get in the way of the plot, and it's used as a vehicle to tell a very heartwarming story. "

"I am not an extreme historical fan but the way the vividness is expressed throughout is incredible! A truly great science fiction novella and in the beginning, the vocabulary and grammar was a little harder to follow, but I caught on at some point haha Overall, it is a good read and worth the time "

"Classic time travel book. It's chilling and also contains social commentary that's still valid today. "

"What an amazing classic! I'm so glad I decided to read this. It honestly felt like a 300 or 400-page book with all the action that was packed into it, and it was only just over 100 pages. That's a really good thing.
It was just such a darn creative book. But it was so logical at the same time. Which is something I personally like to find in a book. I'm all for fiction, but when it's written in such a plausible way it really makes me dream about what could be. And isn't that one of the most beautiful things a book can do for us? I think it is, and to think this book was written before my grandparents were born!
This is one of the best classics I've ever read, I'm very on the fence about pushing it to a five-star.
I would recommend this book if you like philosophy, time travel (duh), adventures, and abstract thinking. Totally adding H.G. Wells to authors I need to read more of."

"Not my favorite. Although, the division of the two futuristic species are meant to represent the the bourgeoisie and proletariat classes. Wells just expresses such an idea in an eerie and somewhat disturbing narrative. I can see why this short story is a classic among the science fiction community, but it didn’t suit my preferences."

"This is one of those books that is a classic for good reason. Very interesting look into the far future of our planet and species. Everything in the story are described very well, from the Eloi and Morlocks to the world itself. It's a short and great read that everyone who loves reading should pick up."

"Intriguing and engaging. Deep enough for thought and discussion, but light enough for entertainment. Mixes science, philosophy, action, and suspense. "
