Love, Simon meets Friday Night Lights in this feelgood LGBTQ+ romance about a trans teen torn between standing up for his rights and staying stealth.'A sharply observant and vividly drawn debut. I loved every minute I spent in this story' - Becky AlbertalliFifteen-year-old Spencer Harris is a proud nerd, an awesome big brother and a Messi-in-training. He's also transgender. After transitioning at his old school leads to a year of bullying, Spencer gets a fresh start at Oakley, the most liberal private school in Ohio. At Oakley, Spencer seems to have it all: more accepting classmates, a decent shot at a starting position on the boy's soccer team, great new friends, and maybe even something more than friendship with one of his teammates. The problem is, no one at Oakley knows Spencer is trans - he's passing. So when a discriminatory law forces Spencer's coach to bench him after he discovers the 'F' on Spencer's birth certificate, Spencer has to make a choice: cheer his team on from the sidelines or publicly fight for his right to play, even if it means coming out to everyone - including the guy he's falling for.Perfect for fans of Red, White and Royal Blue.

"i loved this one so much!! it was a little predictable but yk it’s a romcom it’s bound to be. i really don’t think I disliked anything about it! spencer and justice were such amazing characters as well as the rest of the team and other side characters. i also like how the author made a fair number of people lgbtq+ but kept it real and still had some cishets in there :) idk i just really liked the book and spencer was rly brave i loved him ⭐️4.5/5⭐️ finished 1/21/22"
"I borrowed it from my school’s library and wasn’t sure if I would like it because I’m not a big sports person. I was wrong, it’s an amazing book and an easy read! Lots of emotion was put into every page. 10/10 would recommend "

"Never thought I’d have a thing for country boys but for Justice Cortes…

Anyways, I adored this book. It really is remarkable for a debut and as a trans guy, it really hit different. It’s a pretty quick and easy read, perfect for summer, so if you’re craving something sweet this is it. Spencer is everything I want to be and more, Aidan and Macintosh are the friends I want, and Justice is just something else.

Minor correction, since I see a lot of people saying that Justice is bisexual, Justice is gay.

I have absolutely no complaints, this book is exactly what I needed to get through finals week :D"
