Sometimes I Lie - Likewise Book Reviews
"This book was super intriguing. It kept me hooked & left me questioning the ending but overall a good read. It was interesting to read the narrative from Amber when she was in a coma & how terrifying it is to not be able to physically be present but mentally you’re there. It definitely gave spooky vibes which made me want to know what happened. "
""I tread carefully over a carpet of lies, trying not to disturb them."<br/><br/>4/4.5⭐<br/><br/>This is the second book I've read this week that I loved up until the ending 😭. I'm not going to say much about this book because it's full of delightful twists and turns, but this is a must-read for psychological thriller fans. <br/><br/>This was definitely a page-turner for me, and I was automatically hooked on the story. Amber was a pretty good unreliable narrator, and I didn't want to punch her like I sometimes do with unreliable narrators 😂.<br/><br/>The story moves a bit slowly at times, but there's so much intriguing drama thrown in that it's totally fine. I finished this book within two days, and I definitely hope to see more from Alice Feeney. I just wish I felt better about the very end of the book."

"Fast read, good twists and turns. Overall, an exciting thriller!"
"This book was so great.. I read it within a few hours. One of those books you stay up late just because you just can’t put it down. Suspenseful and kept me on the edge of my seat & constantly wondering what was to happen next. Just when you think you know you what’s happening/going to happen you get a new surprise. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for sure!!! "

"A greatly written psychological thriller that is full of unexpected twists. The book and suspense keep you at the edge of your seat. The ending leaves you with your jaw on the floor, wondering how you didn’t see that coming. "

"I absolutely loved this book. There were times I felt for the main character Amber. There where parts when I felt disgusted and frustrated! Definitely confused at times."

"Wasn’t a big fan of the ending & some parts were confusing but love Alice!"
"(BIG SPOILER) The first 200 pages were intriguing (other than the author having no idea how 10-year-olds think or the language they use). Great plot, creative problem and interesting writing from inside the coma patient's mind. I worked my way through the story quickly...and then...maybe the laziest 50 pages I've ever read. Nothing clever here. No "twist" or big reveal. Instead, names are changed, some characters are imaginary, virtually all the characters are looney, and the story ends with an act that makes absolutely no logical sense. It's like the author got to this point and thought, "What do I do now? Oh, I'll just make every single character a crazy fraud." I swear, the last 4/5ths of this book just made me angry.
This was my 2nd book by this author. I didn't like His & Hers either, but thought I would give her another chance. My mistake, it won't happen again. "

"I was super confused at the beginning of the book and it didn’t really get good until the middle. I want to attempt to re-read it to see if I understand it better. "

"The ending leaves you with more questions than answers. It was a hard read to get in to from start to finish. I haven’t read one review where anyone understands the ending. "

"I had a hard time at 1st really getting into this book…I do promise if you can read 1/2 way I swear you won’t regret it!!! I didn’t see the ending coming and I didn’t see a lot of the twist happen either really good book"
"I've been reading all of her books after getting hooked from the "Queen of Twists" as they call her. I absolutely love that her books usually include SEVERAL twists, and the books are easy to devour however this one seemed a bit harder to get through. My main complaint is the ending. Just because I love twists doesn't mean I love cliffhangers, and that's what this felt like. I guess I would have appreciated either an author explanation, or a part 2...something to tie up the unresolved ending. "

"Loved this book! So twisty you question everything right up to the last page! "
"Pros:<br/><br/>The writing was excellent and the pace made it so there was always something happening and getting to the next page or the next chapter was essential to figure it out.<br/><br/>I think for some people this is going to be among the best psychological thrillers they read and I would really enjoy seeing it transformed into a movie or mini-series.<br/><br/>Cons:<br/><br/>This just isn’t my type of book. I loved the premise and writing style but this was very similar to the Silent Patient in that it doesn’t clearly state things (or I missed them) like who is writing or experiencing a thing. At least this time I didn’t end up throwing the book out of rage at the end."
"#thrillers #psychological_thriller The first page definitely grips you. There are LOTS of twists and turns. You won't be bored, I did guess at least half of them. It's not the best thriller but at 250 pages and a quick pace you can zip through it fast. The writing was just alright but it was a fun ride "
"Slow start at first, but as the plot started to unfold it was a book that was very difficult to put down. Very quick read and so many twists. Was loving it, but then it got pretty dark, one part had me wishing I never read the book, but had to keep going to the end. But I’m not really a thriller seeker. So if you love thrillers, mysteries, suspense this is a definite must read! Major shock wave!! "
