"Greek Gods okay...yea I'm in. This story was really good. I liked how she wrote about the Greek gods but with a modern take. The romance was a bit too much for me but I got through it. I think Hermes was my favorite character, she was pretty funny. I think Katee Robert will grow on me and be one of my favorite authors when I read her other books. Will I be picking up book 2? Yes, yes I will."
"Basically, a court of thorns and roses, beauty and the beast, and 50 shades of grey with a modern greek mythology retelling all rolled into one. Storyline is intriguing initially, but it hits all the classic tropes of enemies to lovers and forced proximity, etc. The writing could be better, but hey, we all know why we read this book, and it wasn't for the great storytelling. 😉 I will probably read the rest of the series because it was just interesting enough to have me hooked and want to finish the book in nearly one sitting. Spice level: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 4/5. "
"Okay- longer review incoming. No spoilers. This was the first "steamy" book I finished. Not my typical genre. As a Greek mythology lover, (as well as a lover of consent) I should have liked this book more than I did. The writing for me was just- odd. It felt like unless it was a steamy scene, it was written like a middle grade book. Very jarring. The author writes the spicy scenes well then seems to forget she's writing for adults the rest of the time. The modern world built for the gods is a very neat concept and I wish it would have been fleshed out more. The chapters were back and forth between the two main characters and the author seems to be unable to find a unique voice for each of them. She decided that the man swears. And that's what sets his chapters apart I guess. In conclusion, it was a fun enough read. The world should have been expanded on, the writing style seems adult only when its getting x-rated, and it was a pretty quick read. Wish I could give more than just a like or dislike because this book wasn't specifically not enjoyable- it just could have been much better. "
"I love Hades and Persephone as character and even together I like they're little banter I wish there was so much more of that. This was a 100% a modern retelling on Greek mythology so If your going into this book for accurate Greek mythology stories this one is not it lol. If your going into this for **** then it's for you because I'm telling you that's 90% of the book Lol I didn't know the extent of it going into this so that was a surprise I think if you just take this book at surface level it's just a fun read. My favorite part of the book was how hard Hades fell for Persephone and how they took fake dating to the next level Imaoo like truly they blew every other fake dating story out of water. it was just vary **** filled which isn't a bad thing I just need more substance other then the **** to make me actually enjoy it He was so I possessive which I hated but if your into that this book is absolutely for you Absolutely skip the audiobook for this one it was so incredibly bad it's dual narration which is usually great and I always enjoy that but this narrator oh my god both of them did it horribly when they tried to do an a impression of eachother it's was so bad I was cackling half of the time"
