"I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as the first, but it was still really good. My biggest grievance is honestly more of a “me problem” than it is an actual issue with the book: and that’s that I can’t read the words “alpha” or “beta” without cringing. Also, the alpha/beta/omega hierarchy in wolves was actually disproven. The theory was based on research by Rudolph Schenkel in 1949, but when he tried to replicate his experiments he found that the real reason some wolves obeyed others wasn’t because of a hierarchical structure, but because the “alphas” they were following were the parents of the pack. The “betas” and “omegas” were just cubs."
