Tyler Perry's Duplicity

"It was not bad, but it was predictable since the beginning when the two couples were together. When the lawyer friend was asking how was their relationship and both try to ignore the question. Her boyfriend looked suspicious as well, still not bad."

"2.5 stars. What can I say? This one was better than his last 2. Unfortunately, that sets the bar pretty low. I will say that Mr. Perry knows how to light black people. I can't say that for even many mainstream movies. He's going to have everyone glowing. But the plot was unbelievable even for suspending belief for fiction. I don't know what else to say about this movie."

"This was a crazy and thrilling movie and I like it."

" A black man is jogging and walks down an alley. An anonymous person calls the neighbor and tells her there is a suspicious black man in the alley way. She calls the cops and there is a wrongful shooting causing his death. His friend…who is also his wife’s friend…just so happens to be an attorney and wants to get justice for him. The investigation into the shooting does not appear to be the straightforward racially motivated shooting she originally thought. That outline sounds fine. However, Perry’s soap opera style of writing is just too cringe worthy to stomach. The dialogue is clunky with the criminals basically speaking about their crimes and all the steps right in front of a person that was seemingly unconscious but of course she wasn’t. He wrote this thinking it was clever but it just didn’t make any sense. You know who is involved pretty much immediately due to the poor set up. By the time we get to the preachy speech at the end I had already checked out. Only Perry fans should watch this one. "I love the lead kat graham in all other shows and movies but this acting was very forced in this movie. It was lacking in delivery. I think the concept was thrilling though in comparison with his most recent stuff this was sadly not even in the running . Rated a sad two stars but it’s free to watch which was nice for prime!"
