Kinda ruined the characters and I wasn’t a huge fan of the pop music, it just dates the movie and prevents it from being as timeless."

From the start of the movie, they basically changed everything! I'd say the only good thing that came out of this is Hort because the actor did really well portraying him. I felt like they were jumping all over the place with the storyline, and the way they changed some characters didn't work at all. Even the visual effects were kind of cheesy. Would I watch this again? Definitely NOT! Would I recommend it? No! 2 hours and 28 minutes were wasted of my time watching this. This movie did not do the books any justice it deserved. This is all my opinion, please don't take any offense if you loved it!"

caleigh_knight shared a tip "Ever since Netflix canceled Julie and the Phantoms I've hated them. So I wanted to hate this movie and I looked for the bad. Yet after 20 minutes, I couldn't anymore. I became far too enthralled in the movie. It was amazing. There are lines upon lines that just astound me. You'll notice them when you watch it. Clever tie-ins, smart comebacks, quick retorts, memorable one-liners, they have them all. I never expected it to say what it did, and everytime it was a pleasant surprise. I may have known what would happen next but every line hooked me and kept me enthralled. Don't get me wrong, the movie was predictable and I knew nearly every plottwist and storyline. Except, it still was good. Nothing shocked me, yet everything shocked me. I know, confusing. Like I said I predicted where the story would go, yet the execution was direct and great. I had no idea the story would go the lengths it did. I'm trying to stay vague enough not to spoil anything but it's like when you drop a bouncy ball (stick with me here). You know it's going to bounce back up just not how high. This story bounced two stories up. If that made any sense, you can see what I mean. I expected everything yet the actors, the effects, the plot, the dialogue, and everything in between blew me out of the water. Plus they had Michele Yeoh, my favorite actress tied for first place with Queen Latifah, so it was already going to get a bump from me. Especially when her character ended up with more depth than I realized. I went into this wanting to hate it. Wanting to despise Netflix for abandoning Julie and the Phantoms, but I couldn't. It just is that great of a story. I only hope Netflix won't dumbfoundingly abandon yet another amazing story."

chena shared a tip "My daughters and I watched this for movie night and we were not disappointed. It reminded us a little of descendants (which we love) but without the singing. I had a lot of fun with hearing newer song hits for the movie while the characters did great in their individual personalities!"

Wouldve been cool if it was a series then it couldve dug in a bit more into the motives and emotions of the characters, like why the jlaw girl was obsessed with the blonde one and made the seduction by Rafal a bit more tense and believable. Overall good for a movie 👍"

gaygaybooks shared a tip "Okay, this movie took so many liberties that it hurt watching it. As someone who grew up reading the books, I was so exited to see one of my favorite childhood books become a movie! But this movie was so badly done. First of all, the romance between Agatha and Tedros. Their relationship in the books was the thing that made me love enemies to lovers. I loved enemies to lovers after reading these books but this movie… did not do that. Tedros HATES Agatha in the first half or so of the book. He despises her and even bullied her. And what this movie did instead, was have Agatha be sort of a pick me and Tedros be a huge ******* annoying flirt and it was soooooo tiring. Oh my ******* god. Another thing I did not enjoy was Rafal. In the first book we don’t see Rafal in the book until the very very end. Which was great because we got to see an amazing romance with him and Sophie in the next few books. I loved their romance. It was so good. I love villain romance and they were amazingly done. But from the way that the movie did it; I don’t think we’re going to have much Rafal anymore since the movie sort of combined the first and third movie. So that’s as interesting… idk. This movie tried wayyyyy to hard. And failed dramatically. 6/10. Don’t recommend to fans of the books."

BUT it was still an amazing movie, and I think those who have not read the book will like it more than those who have. It’s overall a great movie and I highly recommend you to try it!"
