"Crimson Peak meets Get Out, but with a protagonist who has even less self-preservation than the MC of Barbarian. like i would not stay in someone's house in another country i did not know! i would not be comfortable being the only person of color in a room full of white people who seem WAY too eager to meet me! i sure as hell would not invite a guy i've known for two days to stay in my bedroom to keep me 'safe'!!!! she IS right that you can tell a lot about people by how they treat their service staff, and yeah, you SHOULD judge those who don't treat them well! i also appreciate how she doesn't just knuckle under at the first kinda-apology by saying 'oh, it was nothing'. but oh my god PLEASE bring your sensible friend with you and split a hotel room or something OFF this person's estate. the chemistry between those two actresses was so fun, i wish there were more of them. "
