"🌟👍🏾🌟 This started out really witty & fun 🤩 I was loving the music, the graphics, the cringeworthy conversations, the jokes, the personalities (🤪+☺️), the CUDDLES🥰, the LAUGHS😁 … As it progressed, it waned a bit, but was still #watchable & it only got a TEENY bit “preachy” right before the expected happy ending. ⭐️OVERALL, it was the typical awkward, good-natured & warm-hearted “meet the parents” type of #romcom with a solid cast that reminded me a lot of the GUESS WHO movie."
" ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall I liked it. Yes I know it was a bit cringe and some of the humor fell totally flat (the fire and wig scenes were especially dumb!) and there was total lack of chemistry with the two stars but I liked that it pushed boundaries and got people uncomfortable. Also no one thinks Jonah Hill looks 35. Sorry 🤷♀️"
"Great movie! Shows how love has no boundaries, race, orientation! The family was just a nightmare and it was great to see a happy ending full of acceptance! Some parts were expected but that didn’t take away from the film! It was just genuinely and ironically funny! #comedy #romance #romcom #love #lgbtqrep"
"I enjoyed this. It’s not perfect and it got a little cringy at the end, but there are some absolutely hilarious parts. Julia Louis-Dreyfus was fabulous. Just a great all around cast. Every movie can’t be the best, and there is a fatal flaw, but I’m not getting the less than reviews. But for a comedy movie in this day and age? I’ll take it. "
"This movie started off stronger than it ended but it was hilarious nonetheless! Being mixed I could definitely see my own family in it (though the cultures are completely different), which made it especially enjoyable having this comedic light on it instead of drama. Great cast, brilliant writing, definitely recommend!"
"An all-star cast with a strong start. This funny, current, likable and cringey film is a worthwhile romcom romp even if you don’t always gravitate toward said genre. I do not lol. Certainly some of them deserve a good go, and for me this was one of them. It’s not quite a 10, but it’s a solid 8.5, and entertaining enough to keep me interested. It definitely has that awkward Jonah Hill charm, and when backed up by Eddie Murphy, I think I expect a bit much. Still a good time though "
