The plane carrying wealthy Charles Morse crashes down in the Alaskan wilderness. Together with the two other passengers, photographer Robert and assistant Stephen, Charles devises a plan to help them reach civilization. However, his biggest obstacle might not be the elements, or even the Kodiak bear stalking them -- it could be Robert, whom Charles suspects is having an affair with his wife and would not mind seeing him dead.

"This survival/action/thriller from the late 90s is mostly overlooked, certainly it avoided my attention until now. Anthony Hopkins, Alec Baldwin and Harold Perrineau are all excellent in their respective roles, despite some hokey dialogue here and there. The real star of the movie is the main antagonist, a killer Kodiak bear. They used a real bear for these amazing sequences, a huge one... Bart the Bear. No CGI bear in this one. Some breathtaking visuals can be found in the setting of the Alaskan wilderness as well. The movie starts a little slow but picks up pace and soon will have you on the edge of your seat. Overall, it was an enjoyable watch that held up pretty well considering it's already over 25 years old. 7.5/10

"Great thriller/drama with Anthony Hopkins & Alec Baldwin set in the wilderness. Also featuring Bart the bear. Filmed in Canada with gorgeous scenery & an impressive score. HBO Max."
