⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ i love how Trick Mirror read like a peek inside tolentino’s brain. sometimes her essays felt like a gut punch—i was forced to come face to face with lies that i’ve told myself too many times—but it was definitely well worth it. read Trick Mirror if you want to learn about society from a bad-ass, feminist, millennial pov!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ fictional story that brings an interesting pov about what being black in America as a non-American Black. ifemelu’s story was captivating and i appreciated the love story that carried through. i definitely felt like adichie introduced too many new characters though , especially in the second half of the book. i wish she just focused on the main characters’ character development.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ takeaway: treat life as a series of experiments—test and learn, test and learn. i read Range to boost my ego because i have no spike or unique talents...and it was definitely successful in making me feel better about being a generalist LOL. epstein’s research is impressive and his arguments are compelling but the book could definitely be tightened up to reach the so what’s more quickly.
