Kept me invested enough throughout and I liked the world building. However, even putting aside all the controversy, the writing was wordy and the story was longer than it needed to be. This was a long and SLOWWW burn. The two protagonists didn’t seem to have much chemistry, and there was no bridge between childhood friends to sudden romance. I could see where the author was trying to go with this. I love a sapphic fantasy (and I loved the bi representation!), but I’m unsure if I should pick up the sequel or not.

Great retelling of a classic story. Elizabeth was one of the most interesting characters I’ve ever read. The only critique I have is that the beginning was a little slow. The ending was abrupt but I still think it was great. It keeps you thinking about the book.

I’ve heard soo much about this! This was my first Colleen Hoover book. I’m going to be honest - the beginning felt like a setup to a badly-written romance, but the plot started to grow on me. It was messed up and disturbing and I liked it. The story was well-paced and the characters got more and more interesting. Too much spice for me though.

This was one of the most well-written books I’ve seen on Booktok. It was absolutely magical and I loved the fairytale elements. I would say some parts were hard to read, but that’s just because of how emotionally invested I became in this story. I felt anxiety and anticipation, anger and frustration. Also the climax of this story!! It was full of so many thrilling twists and turns. I just couldn’t put the book down.

I enjoyed this book, but I wouldn’t say it was thrilling. I liked the mystery but it felt stretched out. Some of the characters and relationships were lacking, but Hana was well-written. I should have seen the plot twist coming but I didn’t! This is worth a read if you enjoy a slow burn mystery

This was a fantastic retelling of a classic fairytale. I love the way folklore was incorporated. The only thing I didn’t like was how long it was. The story seems to drag and slow down. This would have been a great 300-400 page novel. But the cliffhanger!! I need to get the second book now.

Picked this up for a quick read. It didn’t make me cry, but the I enjoyed the fast pacing. The subject is tragic and sadly relevant. Scary stuff

I’ve been hearing so much about this and to me, it lives up to the hype! This was a great quick read. The characters were well written and relatable. A beautifully sad story.

Just a perfect finale to the series and my favorite in the trilogy. Also liked how the queer characters were portrayed. I was unsure at first, but I really enjoyed seeing the characters grow and I recommend this series!
