Unfortunately, it was cancelled about a year ago, but it did have a good run (about 7 seasons) and was a fun spin on the traditional Sherlock Holmes story. I always appreciated that it was both true to the "spirit" of the original books but also added a fresh and modern angle (great casting, likeable/well-developed but also very real/imperfect characters, etc.). Although it ended well overall, I personally wish it had been renewed to continue longer."

meudwen_phoenix shared a tip "I used to watch BBC Sherlock, but discovering Elementary's Sherlock was like leaving an abusive relationship. Sherlock is allowed to be wrong, to apologize, and be human. Watson is allowed to be an expert in her field and have her own life. Other characters are allowed to be experts and have their own lives that don't revolve around Sherlock! Incredible. I haven't finished watching (left off around Season 4 ish) but should really rewatch from the beginning. I'll be happy to."

You would think with a female Watson they were bound to have a “will they won’t they” plot line, but they didn’t, and it was refreshing. I loved it. They stayed friends and became family. He doesn't toy with people or treat them like tools. He adores Watson above all things, and he's open about that. This Sherlock will do anything to help those in need, and that is very on brand with the original tales. It's a great show with a satisfying, beautiful ending. Highly recommend."

Because the show has more & shorter episodes they are able to spend more time on the interpersonal relationships between characters, adding a lot of depth, it's great."
