"A version of The Summer I Turned Pretty that was not enjoyable. With terrible acting and moments I physically cringed at. "

"I gave this 4 starts because of three things that I didn’t like (spoilers coming)... one Cole tried to take advantage of her (trying to kiss her while she was drunk) at a lake house, next one was when the power went out at the house he knew that they had a backup generator and didn’t turn it on because he was making his move on her, and finally no one wanted to talk about what Cole said at the beach campfire which was offensive but they just forgot about it. The romance was good and the drama kept me watching besides the things I didn’t like, if you liked “The summer I turned pretty” this is sort of similar just country vibes. The quality of this show was so good it felt like it could’ve been a movie."

"Some great, astute family scenes and moments which just goes to show that new family can be valued in a different way than former family after loss. Jackie lives in a family of boys after losing her family and starts over in a new rural town far away from her former urban oasis. This series was thoughtful, warm-hearted, and filled with insights into how people can come back from grief and loss and find ways to endure and go on. Love becomes complicated for Jackie as she goes through a great deal of self-discovery as she finds herself falling for two very different guys. They each bring out varied sides of her and show her the beauty and calamity of the world around her. She makes mistakes and self-sabotages along the way, but all in all remains a character to mostly root for. This series is powerful, riveting, and rooted in a finding of who you ultimately are. "
