Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love. The world will be watching.

"REWATCH: There’s a reason why this movie and series is considered one of the best book to movie adaptations ever made. All future adapters take note - ALWAYS have the original author involved in the script writing process. It produces flawless results that make book and new fans extremely happy. I saw this film in theaters when it first came out in 2012 and it’s still as amazing as when I was 12. Jennifer Lawrence is captivating as Katniss and I will always carry a torch for Josh Hutcherson. He was one of my first celebrity crushes and I have no regrets. Team Peeta all day everyday. As for the rest of the movie, there’s a reason it was a national phenomenon. Caesar Flickerman is hilarious. Snow is despicable. Rue’s death scene had me in a sobbing mess curled up in the fetal position. What else can I say? It’s a modern classic"
