"This is such a twisted tale about voyeurism, possession, passion, and greed. It is unnerving, but absolutely mesmerizing."

"A very odd but hypnotizing movie about the dark side that can be anywhere even if you can't see it at first. I love the themes of desire, possession and greed they are done in such an over the top and stylish way you can't look away from. It's a little slow but I think it works for the story and which means we can watch more of Dennis Hopper's little freak of a character that kinda steals the show with the amount of scenery chewing he does that is both cringy and terrifying. If you have the patience and love the wacky work of David Lynch you should watch it. I need to watch it again myself, it's been awhile."

"I've heard people say "you either like David Lynch's style or you don't"... So far, I'm not loving it. I appreciate and respect the artistry and precision that goes into crafting these surreal, unsettling atmospheres and depraved characters, but I felt so strange and yucky while watching this. I understand that hype, but it's not something that I find particularly enjoyable to watch."

"Interesting and never boring with great acting by Isabella Rosalini and Dennis Hopper. This makes a great double feature with Lynch's Wild at Heart, my favorite of his films. "

"8/10 - An S&M neo-noir that captivates through its voyeuristic lens and odd personas. This film is a personal favorite of mine as time and time again, I am completely enamored by Rossellini’s and MacLachlan’s cinematic presence. "
