The New York Times Bestseller!“Absolutely riveting.” —Alexandra Bracken, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Darkest MindsThis vividly rendered novel reads like HBO’s Game of Thrones . . . if it were set in the Ottoman Empire. "I just finished the series and I absolutely loved it the characters (Lada and mehmed) are at their peaks book one and their evil sides hit throughout the series. I went from being indifferent to Radu to loving him. Lada I feel likes character was well made she's a character who had to deal with a ton of sexism and instead of standing down she beats them up. I'm not really good at describing books but I absolutely loved it and I feel like everyone should give it a good try."
"Lada is an interesting version of the femme fatale. Not because she uses her sexuality, but in spite of it. Since throughout this novel she is forced to make tough decisions. And in a few key moments her being underestimated gives her the opportunity to triumph. Which is entertaining everytime. #andidarken #kierstenwhite #young_adult_fiction #grimdark #historical_fiction "
""You cannot lose something you do not own." Its feminism at its highest. Lada Dracul came out a screaming demon. And not even the lowest of devils could silence her. She was ruthless, and kind of selfish. She offered herself to no one and even when she surrendered herself to those who deserved it she held herself strong to those who opposed her, and was never sorry. She's as hard-headed as a mule, and that strength in time became her weakness.. I love Lada. She made me proud to be a girl."
