Dark Phoenix

"I hate to rate this film negatively, but I just have to. Although it is full of beautiful and bright special effects, the storyline of Jean Grey inheriting outer worldly powers is stretched far too thin for my tastes. I loved seeing all of the actors return for another film in the newer series, but they were all lost in the meandering story. The film simply didn't know what it wanted to be. So much of the script didn't make sense, and never had a chance to have a real solid story arc. The newer characters didn't get much of a backstory. The returning characters only went from one scene to another, trying to make some sense of what should have been a great movie, and not just a confusing one."

"This is as bad as it gets. Repeating the Dark Phoenix storyline would be great if the movie didn't insist on messing with Charles character arc to force drama between him and Mystique. The aliens trying to get the Phoenix force are extremely Underdeveloped. A lot of the C.G.I is bad. Just skip this one."

"This movie was ok. So overpowered though! It detached from the other X-Men and it just felt like less effort was put into the story and all. They keep making Erik (and I know I keep commenting on him but he is a complex character and I miss his and Charles friendship) so indecisive. Like how many emotional outbursts will he have. How come he is painted the bad guy when wolverine has gone through the same amount of trauma and killed as many people. That said, I liked how they ended it with Erik and Charles 😇"

"Man the writing took a downgrade in this one. Also, to be quite honest. I don't like Jean Gray that much. She was usually a liability in the X-Men movies."
